The Horizon in Every Direction

I’m finding myself shooting lots of horizon photographs these days. I much prefer this genre of photograph. Setting up the tripod, allowing for the time of day, adjusting filters and lens aperture in accordance with the light available AND/OR adding a polariser or ND filter.

Usually I walk around the property first, getting an idea of all the potential shots … and then climbing a hill or finding a raised area from which to take the best shots. Here are some examples where all the pre-shooting has paid off for a final shot that!
